AppSec in the AI Era - How secure is code written by AI coding assistents?
How does your organization ensure code written by AI coding assistants (GitHub Copilot, Qodo Gen, Cursor AI, etc.) is secure?
A seismic shift is occurring in software development. The AI genie is out of the bottle, driving exponential increases in velocity and throughput and accelerating release cycles.
The shift doesn’t stop here. AI-assisted coding, an adaptive natural language-driven approach to software development prioritizing creativity and speed, is pushing the pace of software development even further.
This acceleration exposes an uncomfortable truth: AppSec isn’t ready for this quantum leap. Even before AI-generated coding entered the arena, software was already being built faster than it could be secured. The advent of AI-powered development simply raises the stakes.
AppSec must achieve the same acceleration in speed and scale to stem the tide of vulnerabilities and breaches. In today’s environment, the only way to do this is by applying the problem to the solution and using AI to transform AppSec into a fully intrinsic part of development, keeping “bad vibes” out of the codebase with AI agents that not only automate vulnerability detection and remediation but also operate autonomously to manage AppSec tasks at a high level.
As the software development revolution unfolds, this afternoon session will go deeper into how AI adoption is affecting code security, the impact it is having on CISOs, AppSec Managers, and Developers, and examines how, by integrating agentic AI security, we can ensure AppSec meets the challenge of the AI-assisted coding era. Unify SAST, SCA, IaC, & ASPM with Agentic AI to prevent and remediate risks faster, from code to cloud. Embed Agentic AI Cybersecurity Agents in your IDE and workflows to detect, fix, and prevent threats in real time without slowing your developers down.
Among the speakers is Rob van der Veer, Chief AI Officer at Software Improvement Group, who writes international standards and advises on the successful deployment of AI. He has over 34 years of experience in AI and software engineering with a focus on security.
Rob works with organizations on the governance of software development at scale. AI is essential in this process. In his presentation, he shares how organizations are currently dealing with this. How do you maintain control? What rules do you set? What can tools do? Do you need programming experience to review, and if so, how do you ensure that? Do not expect ready-made answers: everyone is searching, but do expect practical tools.
You are welcome to attend our event on Wednesday 6th May 2026 , venue Hotel Van der Valk Breukelen. Hear from the experts how to control security risks while using AI tools for code generation and efficiently mitigating vulnerabilities.
This event is intended for professionals in Software Development, DevOps, Security Management and CISO.
Attendance is at no charge. Please register on this page below.
